Position Summary
To service the customer by delivering products in a Safe, Efficient, Friendly and Helpful manner.
Provide customers the best possible service. The job is to safely deliver products. This includes assisting with hand unloads, checking loads for accuracy, keeping loads safe and secure, assisting operations, and keeping equipment clean.
Over the Road (OTR)
- OTR Driver (must have 3 yrs. CDL A driving experience)

Responsibilities
- Driver will be proficient in understanding and ALWAYS adhere to all DOT regulations.
- Must perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards, including but not limited to all instructions found in the Employee Handbook.
- Accident procedures will be followed as instructed by your manager and as outlined in your truck’s SOP binder.
- All traffic violations must be reported immediately. Paperwork to be turned in as soon as possible to management.
- Every full-time company driver will be issued a company cell phone. Driver will only use this phone while in compliance with DOT regulations and as stated in the Employee Handbook and for business purposes.
- Must maintain a current, up-to-date, DOT Medical card always.
- Must maintain a current, up to date CDL driver’s license always.
- Be at work on time, in the appropriate attire and neat in appearance.
- Forklift certification would be required and potential loading and unloading of load may arise.
- A Geotab system (E LOG system) is provided in our trucks. Proficient understanding of how to use this system is required. Training will be provided. The below is a requirement through our Geotab system (E LOG System) which are provided in our trucks. Training will be provided, but proficient understanding of how to use this is required.

- Physical DVIRS (Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports), better known as pre and post trim inspections are to be completed and approved before and after every trip
- Driver to make sure that their truck has the AHC Logistics Standard Operating Procedure binder with necessary paperwork before departing.
- Always check load for accuracy and safety. Review and sign off on documentation to verify that the loaded material is correct. Secure and strap the entire load before leaving yard. Loads must be tarped when it is raining, roads are wet, or rain is expected. Fog and snow will also cause material to become wet and must be tarped under such conditions.
- Always clean up bands, corner protectors, and cover sheets at delivery site.
- Drivers are responsible for their trucks.
- Keep trucks clean and neat. This includes both inside and out.
- Maintain all fluid levels and mechanical needs. This includes but is not limited to oil, tires, lights, water, fuel, strap condition, tarps, bungee cords, band cutters, all legal paperwork (insurance card, registration card, and accident forms), camera.
- Driver must always follow the pre-established route; supervisor must approve any exceptions. Delays or breakdowns must be immediately reported. If there is a chance the route might not be completed, notify your supervisor as soon as possible.
- All paperwork must be signed by the customer and initialed by the driver. This paperwork must be turned in daily.
General Requirements
- Must have at least 3 years proven experience
- Must be able to proficiently speak, hear and read English.
- Must have unloading/loading experience
- Must be able to have use of fingers and limbs to be able to safety operate CMV controls.
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
- Must be able to climb up and down from truck cab and trailer.
- Must be able to physically lift, carry, or move up to 100lbs.
- Tarps must be removed and rolled upon completion of route.
- Drivers are responsible for their trucks.
- Keep trucks clean and neat. This includes both inside and out.
- Maintain all fluid levels and mechanical needs. This includes but is not limited to oil, tires, lights, water, fuel, strap condition, tarps, bungee cords, band cutters, all legal paperwork (insurance card, registration card, and accident forms), camera.
- No counter (non-printable) checks will be accepted.
- All COD amounts are to be collected in full unless authorized by the accounting department.
- All Cash amounts are to be in cash or certified funds unless authorized by accounting department.
- Any quantity or COD variations must be adjusted on the yard order.
- Cross check delivered yard orders against route sheet to confirm all orders are accounted for. Any rescheduled or returned goods must be noted on the route sheet. Documentation must be turned in with your delivery tickets.
General Safety Rules
· Follow all company safety policies as detailed below
- When working in a new area for the first time, ensure you have been properly trained on how to operate and the potential hazards in the area
- Always wear required PPE including:
- High Vis clothing
- Safety Vest
- T-shirts
- Jackets
- Hard soled shoes – NOTE: some positions require steel toed boots or shoes
- Gloves when handling lumber/stacking sticks
- Hearing protection and safety glasses are required in areas such as:
- All remanufacturing buildings
- All moulding buildings
- Planer operations
- Breakdown buildings
- Goggles/face shield when operating wood hog
- Lock out/tag out is to be practiced – equipment should be locked out for safety before entering or working. Observe and respect locks and tags on equipment without tampering.
- Observe all safety chains and posted “KEEP OUT” areas – do not enter unless locked out
- Know the locations of the fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and emergency evacuation maps within each building/area
- Forklift and truck traffic is heavy in most areas, always pay attention to your surroundings. Walk inside the painted lines at those locations that have marked pedestrian walkways.
- Report all accidents or potential hazards to the supervisor immediately.
