Wolfe Street Academy has dedicated resources to the creation of robust extended student services, stemming from a belief that the successful education of any student cannot occur solely between the hours of 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM during the school year. These services come in largely two forms, the Wolfe Street Academy After School Program and the Wolfe Street Academy Summer School Program. Originally, two separate programs, they were merged in 2010 in order to raise the professional expectations of the Directorship position.
The Director of Out of School Time Programming will work cyclically to plan, prepare, execute and reflect on high quality After School and Summer School programs. The Director will oversee all aspects of the programs including hiring, fund raising, curricular and programmatic decisions, evaluation and management of program staff, budget management, advocacy, and community building.
The Director will collaborate with Wolfe Street Academy leadership in an effort to create a seamless union of the extended student services with the school program and the Family and Community School strategy. This will involve the closest work with the Principal of Wolfe Street Academy and the Community School Site Coordinator.
Characteristics of the Successful Director Candidate will include:
- Collaborative Nature
- Able to build relationships
- Able to work with a team
- Problem Solver
