Vice President, Planning, Marketing and Assessment
Carroll Community College seeks a full-time Vice President of Planning, Marketing & Assessment.
Job Summary
This position is responsible for leading activities related to planning, institutional research, institutional effectiveness assessment, required reporting processes, and strategic marketing for the College. It reports to the President of the College.
Essential Job Functions:
- Leads a transparent College strategic planning process including: development and periodic review of the institutional mission, values, vision, and strategic priorities which are tied to budgeting and resource allocation and guide area strategic and operational plans.
- Leads institutional planning efforts by: chairing the Planning Advisory Council and providing members with relevant information; designing a planning process that includes input from all constituencies; supplying information to support the overall planning process including; enrollment trend data and conclusions from environmental scans; and, supporting efforts for the President and Board of Trustees to develop and defend the operating and capital budgets before County and State governmental bodies.
- Leads institutional research functions by: supervising the Director of Institutional Research and assuring that all state and federal reports are submitted as required; overseeing the design, implementation, and evaluation of internal and external research initiatives; conducting systematic environmental scanning activities; preparing and evaluating enrollment projections for planning and budget development; supporting re-accreditation efforts; and overseeing assessment of institutional effectiveness efforts for the College.
- Leads the institution’s marketing and promotional efforts by: Supervising the Senior Director of Marketing to assure the development of appropriate visual identity program for the College, the effective development, implementation and evaluation of the institution’s Strategic Marketing Plan, the development of effective advertising, social media and promotional publications, and assuring the delivery of outstanding service to internal College constituents in support of programs and events.
- Oversees processes to evaluate the overall effectiveness of the College in achieving its mission, meeting its goals, and accomplishing its Strategic Plan.
- Serves as Chair of the College’s Data Governance-Ellucian Committee.
- As a senior leader of the College, serves on the College’s Executive Team and provides appropriate strategic input and analysis to help direct the initiatives and programs of the College and responds to the President’s requests regarding correspondence, issues, and problems as they relate to areas under direction.
- Supervises assigned staff.
- Attends Board of Trustees meetings; provides information to the Board related to areas under direction; chairs and/or serves on assigned committees.
Minimum Requirements To Perform Work:
- Master’s degree in related area, doctorate degree preferred.
- Strong technical and analytical skills and at least ten years college administrative and managerial/supervisory experience in planning, assessment and using/presenting data as an analytical tool, as well as significant leadership experience in one or more of the remaining areas supervised.
- Demonstrated ability in applying data analysis skills and in protecting data integrity.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to make presentations to individuals, stakeholder groups and the Board of Trustees.
- Direct marketing experience preferred.
- Experience within an Ellucian Enterprise System environment preferred.
- College-level teaching and experience in a community college preferred.
- Must be positive, cooperative and supportive.
Physical Demands:
The work is normally light work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Periodically, it requires standing for longer periods of time during presentations or fairs. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:
- Hear/talk/communicate – Must be able to exchange information and communicate
- Visual Acuity/ability to perceive or detect surroundings
- Mental acuity – Able to focus, concentrate, understand and convey subject matter
- Repetitive motion (i.e. keyboarding)
- Stand/sit/walk/able to move or traverse from one area to another
Work Environment
Office work: Requires normal safety precautions of office work in a campus environment, safe use of office equipment; observance of fire and building safety regulations; and observance of traffic laws when driving College vehicles.
