Part-Time Bartender

General Summary:
Responsible for bar service in the Community cocktail lounge.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Essential Job Duties: 1. Takes orders, provides service and requested items both graciously and courteously. Answers pertinent questions about drink items. 2. Clears all tableware from tables and bar after service. 3. Ceans all glassware and dishes, including ashtrays, and distributes. 4. Stocks, restocks and rotates supplies. 5. Prepares garnishes and snack trays. 6. Maintains all documents necessary to accurately account for resident and guest charges. 7. Assists supervisor with inventory of supplies. 8. Assists in maintaining a high level of customer service for our residents and their guests. 9. Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned. 10. Familiarity with emergency procedures and required to assist with evacuations.
Other Duties: 1. Maintains safe and sanitary conditions in work area. 2. Maintains acceptable standards of personal hygiene and complies with department dress code. 3. Completes all assigned cleaning tasks. 4. Operate as a member of a team both within the department and across departments. 5. Informs supervisor of equipment and supply needs. 6. Performs other work duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic. Ability to understand measurements and conversions.
- Experience bartending in a hotel, restaurant or club with fine dining experience preferred.
- Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers. Requires courtesy, tact and graciousness.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Current “Techniques of Alcohol Management” certification.
Physical Requirements/Working conditions:
Light to moderate physical effort 90% of the time. Must be able to stand and walk 90% of the work day; ability to stoop, bend and stretch frequently; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently. Must be able to see, hear, and speak, required to wear slip resistant shoes.

CLASSIFICATION FOR BLOODBORNE PATHOGENS
Level 2 classification for bloodborne pathogens: a potential exposure to human blood or bodily fluids may be anticipated while performing or conducting minor first aid or fluid cleaning up. Bloodborne pathogen training is required by this facility. Hepatitis B vaccinations will be offered.
CRITICAL POSITION:
This position is a “non-critical position.” This means that its functions are not needed to be performed on a daily basis to meet resident and/or facility needs. Employees in “non-critical” positions are not required to report to work in emergency situations, weather related or otherwise. Non-critical employees may be required to report to work if the need of BayWoods dictates it. The Executive Director or Designee will make that determination.
