Main Purpose Of Job
The primary purpose of this full time contractual position is to collect and analyze provider, demographic, and geographic boundary data sets for the federally funded project, Primary Care Office (PCO) that promotes access to underserved populations, rural and medical, across the State of Maryland. This position will also assesses statewide need for primary care, mental health, and dental health services through the management of a statewide survey for collection of provider data; the development of a state methodology for the definition of underserved; and working with other OPHI programs to provide technical assistance in the distribution of data, maps, and additional support.
Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Two years of experience evaluating, analyzing, researching and developing health care services, policies and programs.
1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field for one year of the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Doctorate degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The desired candidate should have experience working with public health data, in particular, experience working with large public health data sets; experience with Excel and ArcGIS; experience with health policy research and use of quantitative and qualitative skill sets in a public health and/or government setting.
