WIC Nutritionist Trainee
Worker needed in the Prince George’s County WIC Program. Training will be provided to applicant selected for employment. Responsibilities include conducting interviews with WIC applicants to determine eligibility for the WIC Program, providing health and nutrition counseling, performing health screenings including finger sticks, and data entry. Employees in this position learn how to implement and evaluate all phases of nutrition education, breastfeeding and outreach in order to promote the program’s mission of improving the health status of pregnant and postpartum women, infants and children. Nutritionist trainees may provide some high risk nutrition counseling and nutrition education, issue breast feeding pumps, and make food package prescription decisions.
Bilingual in Spanish is highly desired by not required.
Breastfeeding experience a plus but not required
Must have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Community Nutrition, Dietetics, Foods and Human Nutrition, Food Systems Management or Nutrition Education is required.
$16.90 - $18.15 per hour
