WIC PROGRAM ASSOCIATE
Workers needed in the Prince George’s County WIC Program. Training will be provided to applicants selected for employment. Responsibilities include conducting interviews with WIC applicants to determine eligibility for the WIC Program, providing health and nutrition counseling, performing health screenings including finger sticks, and data entry.
High school graduate and one year experience in health and human service delivery, performing tasks such as program eligibility determination, health screenings, client referral services, or nutrition education is required.
60 credit hours from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the experience requirement.
Bilingual in Spanish Highly desired but not required.
Breastfeeding experience desired but not required.
$14.11 - $15.12 per hour

WIC is a federally funded program that provides healthy supplemental foods and nutrition counseling for pregnant women, new mothers, infants and children under age five. The program has an extraordinary 40 plus year record of preventing children's health problems and improving their long-term health, growth and development. WIC serves over 8 million women, infants and children through over 10,000 clinics nationwide. In 2017, Maryland WIC served over 135,000 women, infants and children each month.
