Volunteer and In-Kind Donation Coordinator

Paul's Place seeks an enthusiastic, people-oriented individual to join our team as the Volunteer & In-Kind Donation Coordinator.
The Volunteer & In-Kind Donation Coordinator is responsible for engaging individuals and groups in Paul's Place's mission through volunteer and in-kind support and for cultivating these supporters to become donors. S/he enhances relationships with existing volunteers and in-kind donors and builds relationships with corporate, public, non-profit, and faith-based organizations to develop and sustain a robust volunteer and in-kind donor network. S/he ensures that volunteers and in-kind donors have a positive experience, understand their impact on our mission, and know the myriad ways to get involved in our work.
Primary Responsibilities:
Volunteer Program Management (60%)
- Collaborate with the Deputy Director, Director of Development & Communications, and program team to assess (and revise, as needed) all aspects of the Paul's Place volunteer program, including ongoing and special volunteer needs; volunteer recruitment materials; volunteer training materials, handbooks, and policies and procedures; volunteer management database system; and long-term program goals
- Establish, build, and maintain relationships with the corporate, public, non-profit, and faith-based organizations that will support Paul's Place's volunteer recruitment efforts
- Identify, pursue, and participate in potential recruitment opportunities, including speaking engagements, networking events, and online/social media tactics
- Serve as the point of contact for volunteer inquiries
- Recruit, schedule, and support volunteers for all ongoing volunteer programs - including Hot Lunch, the Market Place, the computer lab, and After-3
- Recruit, train, schedule, and manage volunteers for fundraising events and other special events
- Conduct tours of Paul's Place with new volunteers and prospective donors and the daily volunteer debrief
- Maintain volunteer data in the Raiser's Edge database, including contact information and volunteer hours
- Report on volunteer contributions to Paul's Place's programs and services
- Serve as a back-up for the Ambassador & Volunteer Program Coordinator, including overseeing the morning volunteer meeting, assigning volunteer roles, and supervising volunteers and Ambassador volunteers
In-Kind Donation Management (20%)
- Collaborate with the Deputy Director and program team to develop an annual schedule of projected in-kind needs and a process for fulfilling special requests for in-kind support
- Develop and revise in-kind donation marketing materials
- Establish, build, and maintain relationships with the corporate, public, non-profit, and faith-based organizations that will support Paul's Place's in-kind donation drive efforts
- Coordinate with the Day Program Coordinator to record and acknowledge in-kind contributions
Volunteer and In-Kind Donor Recognition and Engagement (20%)
- Work with the Director of Development & Communications and Assistant Director of Development to create and implement a volunteer and in-kind donor recognition and solicitation/donor recruitment plan, with a focus on building long-term relationships and increasing individual, corporate, and faith-based giving through volunteer involvement
- Plan and execute volunteer recognition strategies for National Volunteer Appreciation Week and throughout the year
- Communicate with volunteers and in-kind donors through periodic volunteer email updates
- Develop volunteer and in-kind donor stories, photos, videos, and other content for social media, the website, and print communications
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Development & Communications.
Requirements:
- Passion for Paul's Place's mission
- Bachelor's degree and at least 3-5 years of volunteer management experience
- Strong networker who has the natural ability to connect people with causes and engage them to take action
- Collaborative, team-oriented style; self-motivated, resourceful, creative
- Excellent written and oral communication; experience and comfort in public speaking
- Superior interpersonal skills, demonstrating excellent relationship management with donors, volunteers, and colleagues
- Ability to think analytically and strategically, to establish and achieve quantifiable objectives
- Strong time and project management skills; proven ability to organize own work, meet deadlines, efficiently manage multiple priorities, and adjust to peak periods in the workflow
- Strong computer literacy with specific experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point and Google office suite; experience with Raiser's Edge, volunteer management software, and social media platforms a plus
- Familiarity with the Baltimore metropolitan area a plus
- Ability to work evenings and weekends on occasion
