Accountant III – Payroll Specialist

Accountant III – Payroll Specialist Queen Anne’s County, Maryland $58,560 – $93,816 Queen Anne’s County is looking for a dynamic and energetic Accountant III to oversee bi-weekly payroll for the County. This position is responsible to ensure compliance for federal, state and local guidelines and statues along with electronic direct deposit and withholding submissions. Additionally, this position is responsible for overseeing weekly accounts payable processing as well as tracking and preparing financial grant reports.

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration

• A minimum of five (5) years’ experience performing comparable public sector accounting duties, governmental or non-profit accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Status as a Certified Public Accountant in Maryland is preferred, but not required.
