Facilities Specialist
The Chronicle of Higher Education is seeking a Facilities Specialist to provide operations and meeting support to Chronicle staff. The focus of this self-driven, detail-oriented role is to apply the planning, support and organization the Chronicle needs to provide a well-maintained office space, and high-quality meeting and event support. The facilities specialist maintains a strong working rapport with Chronicle staff to ensure positive, efficient and effective access to office services. The specialist is the “go to” person in the organization for support with supplies, meetings, events and catering. The specialist opens the office each day by making sure all designated areas have coffee and the office is at the standard setting. In addition they act as a back-up for the company reception desk.
We’re looking for someone with excellent communication skills – both oral and written, strong interpersonal skills, and attention to detail. 2-3 years of experience in a similar office and facilities support role is required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred. This role requires someone to meet certain physical demands to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. These include: ability to lift up to 50 pounds, to sort and deliver mail daily and to move furniture to set up meetings.
