General Manager of Operations
The Orange Water and Sewer Authority (OWASA) General Manager of Operations North Carolina - The Orange Water and Sewer Authority (OWASA), is Carrboro-Chapel Hill’s not-for-profit public service agency delivering high-quality water, wastewater, and reclaimed water services. OWASA seeks a General Manager of Operations to lead and direct the overall operation and maintenance of the water, wastewater and reclaimed water systems and programs. Must be a trusted steward of the environment, our natural resources and the organization’s financial resources. Must be community-minded and be innovative in their approach to problem-solving. A service-oriented attitude, responsiveness, professionalism, and a passion to foster a diverse and inclusive work environment are necessary. Position requires seven to nine years of progressive management experience directing a water and/or wastewater utility. Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering, environmental sciences, or related field. Licensure as a Professional Engineer and/or certifications in water and wastewater treatment are highly desired, but not required.
