Facilities Maintenance Manager – Town of Abingdon, VA
The Town of Abingdon, Virginia is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Manager (FMM) to join our team. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Director of Public Works. The FMM will manage a program that oversees and directs maintenance personnel (currently one Maintenance Specialist) and contractors engaged in building and facilities repair and minor renovation, equipment installation, and preventive maintenance. Regular duties include, but are not limited to, development, design, coordination, and inspection of preventive maintenance program work; assigning work orders, managing the daily decisions regarding the building and facilities maintenance operations, supervising the work of the Facilities Maintenance Specialist and contractors, approving invoices; assisting in long-range plans, conceptual designs and capital outlay requirements and documentation for the program; filling in as a Maintenance Worker as needed. The FMM also acts as a liaison to a public utility, environmental, and energy agencies.
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a four-year degree in a related field of study. At least three years of facility-related project management experience; or any combination of education and experience equivalent to an Associate's degree in a related field of study plus five years of facility-related project management experience; or successfully completion of a trades apprenticeship or vocational school trade program with five years facility-related project management experience. Working knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing, and time management software.
Minimal Requirement: Possession of valid driver's license.
Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $48,791-$58,549 per year. Starting offer is based on applicable education beyond minimum, experience.
