Motor Equipment Operator
Town of Randolph seeks Motor Equipment Operator & Manager for Stetson Hall.
Job Definition: Skilled work in the operation of motor equipment and laborers duties when assigned.
Distinguishing Characteristics: Works under general supervision and is assigned daily tasks by the division foreman. Work requires independent judgment and careful operation of assigned equipment to avoid breakdowns and to avoid damage to public and private property. Errors could be costly to correct and could result in damage to expensive equipment. Work requires constant heavy physical effort and is performed under varying weather conditions, and varying work hours during emergency operations such as snow and ice.
Examples of Work: Operates motor equipment in the performance of the tasks assigned. Types of motor equipment operated include pickup trucks, dump trucks, sanders, snowplows, bobcats, mowers, sidewalk tractors, and sidewalk snow blowers. Shall follow prescribed preventative maintenance procedures on assigned equipment, also performs labor incidental to the work of operating assigned equipment or other labor tasks within the DPW when not assigned to motor equipment
Desirable Qualifications: High School graduation, 2 years qualifying experience in the operation of motor equipment. Basic knowledge in the servicing and preventive maintenance procedures related to motor equipment assigned to operate.
License requirements: Mass CDL driver’s license with air brake, and tanker endorsements.
