Responsibilities: |
The incumbent provides visionary, collaborative leadership to the Central Plant operations team, and supports the University’s academic enterprise and commitment to sustainability and climate neutrality by providing safe, efficient and reliable utility distribution throughout the campus. This position will be responsible for substantial planning, personnel functions, development of staff and implementing policies and procedures that maximize the contribution of all team members. Required Minimum Qualifications: |
A Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or a related field and three years experience in an applicable field of engineering. Administrative and managerial experience in maintenance and utilities activities required. Must have a valid Class C driver's license Must be able to: analyze and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts; demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly in both verbal and written form and proficiently utilize personal computers and computer software including word processing, spreadsheet, building automation systems and maintenance management programs. Must display the skills necessary to learn and analyze complex utility systems operations. Must display solid technical knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot not only failures but operations errors and develop a comprehensive plan to correct deficiencies. The ideal candidate has a working level knowledge of central plant operations as well as a demonstrated ability to forecast and plan for future maintenance and repair projects critical to campus wide operations.
