Position Title: Associate Director, University of Maryland Talent Search-Central Programs (UM-Talent Search), Academic Achievement Programs

Position Duties:
The Associate Director/Academic Coordinator reports directly to the Executive Director of Academic Achievement Programs. The Associate Director is responsible for the day to day operations of the UM Talent Search Central program, a federally funded TRIO program. This individual will provide leadership; monitor program activities; manage goals and objectives; supervise staff; assist with evaluating all aspects of the Talent Search and other duties as assigned. This position is located off-campus in Prince George’s County. There will be meetings at the University of Maryland College Park campus as well as in the community.
Qualifications:
Minimum requirements include a master’s degree in Counseling Education, Student Personnel Services or related area and 3 to 5 years of related experience. Must have 2-4 years of direct experience working with youth, students in education or related settings and specific experience working with students from ow-income and first generation back ground in middle to high school level. A terminal degree preferred, 5-10 years administrative experience in a in Public School setting; 3-5 years of relevant experience with disadvantaged youth populations, supervisory experience; preferably in a community based program or higher education setting; knowledge of Prince George’s County and familiarity with Prince George’s County Public Schools system strongly preferred.
