The Cadott Police Department is accepting applications for the purpose of hiring & establishing an eligibility list for part-time police officers. Village of Cadott part-time police officers are paid $19.00/hour with no overtime options, and are not subject to health insurance and retirement benefits.
Applicants must meet the following requirements: be a U.S. citizen with a valid WI driver’s license; have an acceptable driver’s record with no felony driving convictions; must be in good physical condition; must be eligible for certification by the Wisconsin Department of Justice-Law Enforcement Standards Board and have a minimum of 60-college credits or an associate degree or bachelors degree in Criminal Justice or related field and have completed a required recruit academy; have obtained a high school diploma; have a criminal history clear of felony convictions and the ability to possess a firearm; no domestic abuse convictions; vision correctable to 20/20; above average written and oral communication skills; the ability to react quickly and effectively in stressful situations; the ability to work nights, weekends and holidays or otherwise as directed by the Chief of Police or Patrol Sergeant; knowledge and skilled in operating computer systems; to be able to speak clearly and concisely; the ability to multi-task; the training and ability to perform essential job functions of the position and the ability to use all required law enforcement equipment correctly and effectively.
Applicants must submit a typed Department of Justice (DOJ-LE-330) application with optional cover letter and/or resume by the above deadline. A resume’ is not an acceptable substitution for the required job application, but may be included with the application.
Selected applicants may need to pass a written exam, oral interview, psychological profile, medical and/or physical fitness tests, vision exam, drug screening and background investigation prior to a conditional offer of employment. A uniform allowance of up to $150.00 is available to part-time officers upon completing 12 consecutive months of employment. Residency is not required for part-time officers. Applicants with prior work-related experience are encouraged to apply.

Applications received after the May 25th, 2022 deadline will not be accepted or considered. Applications may be hand-delivered in-person on the deadline date to the on-duty officer in Cadott , or to the Village Clerk’s Office prior to the 4:30 p.m. closing time.
